Common questions about our church and the Orthodox faith
What should I expect on my first visit?
We welcome all visitors warmly. You can expect a traditional Orthodox liturgy lasting about 3-4 hours, followed by fellowship and refreshments. We have programs specifically designed for newcomers.
Do I need to be Orthodox to attend?
No, absolutely not! We welcome people from all backgrounds and faiths. Our church is open to everyone seeking to learn about Orthodox Christianity.
What should I wear?
We encourage modest dress. Men typically wear dress shirts and pants, while women often wear dresses or skirts that cover the knees and shoulders. Head coverings are optional but appreciated.
Is the service in Amharic or German?
Our services are conducted primarily in Ge'ez (the liturgical language) and Amharic, with some German translations provided. We also have English-speaking members who can help translate.
How can I get involved?
There are many ways to get involved! You can join our volunteer programs, participate in community events, attend educational programs, or simply come to worship regularly. Contact us to learn more about opportunities.
